Thème 1 : La vie scolaire et extrascolaire
General Description
In this theme, you will share aspects of your academic and extracurricular lives and explore the educative systems in the Francophone world: you will discuss routines/schedules, aspirations, and strategies for personal and academic success.
By examining your daily lives and aspirations within and beyond your studies, you will reflect on your individual journeys at your university (exemple: Rollins College) and the goals you are working toward, both now and in the future.
Through authentic materials, including the film Première année, you will explore student pathways to professional careers and examine generational perspectives on academic success and career preparation.
Learning Objectives
At the end of this theme, you will able to:
- Communicate effectively about academic and personal life
- Express your future goals and hopes
- Develop language skills to articulate your reasons, purposes, and consequences for their choices and actions
- Provide advice to peers for academic and personal growth and success
- Compare and contrast educational systems in Francophone countries (with a focus on France) with your own academic experience
- Add nuances to your communication by reviewing and expanding on practical language skills (such as connectors, simple and complex negation…)
